Who we are
At the Good Food Collective, we believe everyone deserves access to nourishing, wholesome food. We are a coalition of brands, organizations, and experts united in our mission to create a healthier future by driving transparency, higher standards and empowering people to make informed, conscious food choices at the grocery store.
We are dedicated to bringing more transparency to the food industry— from production and labeling to packaging— so consumers have knowledge they need to choose products which align with their values and lifestyles. By working together, we can drive positive change. Through our collective efforts, we aim to rebuild consumer trust and advocate for a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come.
What will the GFC do?
Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labeling and beyond
The GFC’s first collaborative initiative was to respond to the FDA’s proposed rule on Food Labeling: Front-of-Package Nutrition Information in the United States. We support efforts that help consumers easily identify how foods fit into a healthy diet. However, we believe aspects of the FDA’s proposal could be improved.
In our response, we recommended a FOP nutrition labeling system that is mandatory, educational, design-forward and consumer-friendly. A nutrition labeling system that doesn’t just inform consumers, but empowers them. We submitted our official response to the FDA on July 11th. As a collective, we are excited to move forward with influencing and advocating for the implementation of mandatory Front-of-Package nutrition labeling that benefits both consumers and the food industry.

- using deceptive imagery on packaging
- using cleanwashing, greenwashing or misleading messaging on packaging or in advertising
- limiting information helpful to consumers decision making
- marketing unhealthy products to kids
- using artificial and synthetic additives or ingredients such as dyes, flavors or sweeteners
